Alpacas and their camelid ancestors have ranged freely in the Peruvian highlands for thousands of years. Theirs is a truly symbiotic relationship with the rugged environment of the arid Andes Mountains.
Family Tradition
Living at altitudes of 12,000 feet and higher, small-scale ranchers and their families are carrying on a pastoral tradition that stretches back over 1,400 years.
Ranchers are coming together to preserve their traditional livelihoods, and we are supporting their efforts. We partner with mills that pay a fair price for raw alpaca fiber. We also invest in naturally colored alpaca wool, increasing biodiversity and strength among alpaca herds.
